Nghi Loc rewards special case of seizing 138 kg of fireworks

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 6, 2017, Nghi Loc District People's Committee organized a ceremony to commend the 117P Project Team led by the Nghi Loc Traffic Police Team for fighting and arresting a subject who illegally bought, sold, and transported 138 kg of various types of fireworks.

To promptly encourage the traffic police officers of the district police, along with recognizing and praising the intelligence and bravery of the task force and officers participating in solving the case, the leaders of Nghi Loc district People's Committee awarded 5 million VND to the task force for their outstanding achievements in attacking and suppressing crime before the Lunar New Year of Dinh Dau 2017.

Previously, as reported by Nghe An Newspaper, at around 8:45 p.m. on January 5, at km 1+10 of Vinh bypass road, in hamlet 7, Nghi Hoa commune, the task force of the Special Investigation Committee discovered Dang Van Tuyen (born in 1972), residing in hamlet 10, Nghi Hoa commune, driving a motorbike with license plate 37K1 - 596.85 carrying a number of goods contained in a bag of snake carcasses suspected to be firecrackers.

The task force conducted an inspection and caught Tuyen red-handed transporting 36 mortar-type firecrackers. Expanding the investigation, the task force arrested Dang Van Nguyen (born in 1987), residing in the same hamlet 10, Nghi Hoa commune, and seized a large quantity of firecrackers of the same type from Dang Van Tuyen at his kiosk.

The total weight of the fireworks seized in the case was 138 kg. Also on January 5, Nghi Loc Police's professional teams investigated, discovered and arrested 3 more cases of illegal transportation and trading of fireworks, temporarily detained 5 subjects, and seized 18.9 kg of various types of fireworks.
