'Suspected North Korea is mobilizing a missile launcher'

(Baonghean.vn) - The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on August 15 that the country's leader Kim Jong-un had heard a report about the plan to fire missiles near the US territory of Guam in the Pacific Ocean.

According to KCNA, the North Korean leader will watch every move of the US for a longer period of time before making a decision. KCNA said Kim Jong-un has instructed his army to be ready to launch firepower once he makes the decision to attack.

Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed reports that spy satellites have captured images of North Korea moving missiles into position for launch. CNN news agency quoted a US military official as saying there is suspicion that the DPRK is “mobilizing a missile launcher.”

However, US military sources said the activity was “not considered directly related to the threat North Korea announced last week that it would launch missiles near Guam.” However, according to CNN, the move suggests Pyongyang may be ready to launch missiles within the next two days.

The comments came after US Defense Secretary James Mattis said the US would know the flight path of a missile launched by North Korea in a very short time and would “eliminate” it if it looked like it was targeting the US island of Guam.
