Russian MP: US no longer has any reason to put pressure on Türkiye
Pavel Dorokhin, a member of the State Duma Defense Committee, commented in a conversation with RT on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's statement that the purchase of Russia's S-400 air defense missile systems will help strengthen the country's security.

“First of all, it is worth noting that this is not the first statement by President Erdogan. Despite the constant pressure from the United States, he said that Türkiye is a serious country, has signed an agreement and paid a certain amount for the purchase of the S-400. Erdogan made the right choice on the side of the Russian complex,” he said.
According to the congressman, the US no longer has any legitimate reason to pressure Türkiye on this issue.
“Mr. Erdogan shows seriousness in international relations. If agreements are signed, they must be respected. Moreover, it is worth noting that the S-400 is not an offensive system, but a defensive system,” Mr. Dorokhin said.
Previously, President Erdogan said that purchasing the S-400 air defense missile system from Russia would help strengthen the country's security.
According to him, despite serious disagreements between Türkiye and the US regarding the purchase of S-400, for Ankara, “the most important thing is the future” of the country.
