According to the politician told the newspaper, Ukraine shows disrespect for the agreements, neglecting to fulfill Kiev's obligations.

In a few days, the French Senate will vote on the question of lifting sanctions against Russia, and lawmakers are confident that this idea has a chance of success.

At the end of April, a resolution on lifting sanctions against Moscow was passed by the French National Assembly's lower house, and if the Senate also confirms a similar resolution, the government will find it difficult to ignore the opinion of the majority of parliamentarians.

In Mr. Thierry Mariani's view, the fact that regional MEPs disagree with the official EU policy line shows that more and more politicians are starting to ask the question: Why is it necessary to maintain sanctions against Russia to the detriment of ourselves?
