French MP calls for end to 'anti-Russian hysteria'
National Unity Party MP José Évrard sent a message to French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, in which he called for normalization of relations with Russia.

Mr. José Évrard reminded that the US Commission investigating "Russian interference" in the US election did not find any evidence of Moscow's influence or influence on the electoral process in other countries.
According to the MP, although this was not the main reason for imposing sanctions against Russia, the accusation of “interference” influenced the extension of sanctions.
“Isn’t it time to put an end to this system of sanctions, which should be considered an anti-Russian hysteria, which only leads to a further deterioration of France’s trade balance? Shouldn’t France take the initiative to restore dialogue and even trade with Russia?”, the MP wrote in his message.
A number of Western countries imposed sanctions against Russia in 2014. The reason was the result of a referendum in Crimea in which the overwhelming majority of residents declared their desire to join Russia, as well as the beginning of a conflict in southeastern Ukraine.
Moscow responded with sanctions. Since then, restrictions on both sides have been extended and expanded.
