Nghia Dan celebrates 130 years of its name and 85 years of establishing the first party cell

(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of December 26, at the District Central Square, the Nghia Dan District Party Committee solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the name Nghia Dan (1885 - 2015) and the 85th anniversary of the founding of the first Party cell (1930 - 2015).

Attending the ceremony were the Central leaders: Phan Dinh Trac - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee; Nguyen The Trung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Committee; Major General, Dr. Nguyen Duc Hai - Director of the Institute of Strategy of the Ministry of National Defense; representatives of central ministries, departments and branches. On the side of the leaders of Military Region IV, there was Major General Nguyen Sy Hoi, Deputy Commander of the Military Region.

The speech at the ceremony, presented by Comrade Vi Van Dinh, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of Nghia Dan District Party Committee, affirmed that the name Nghia Dan only appeared more than a century ago. Local history also recorded that under the Nguyen Dynasty, in the 21st year of Minh Mang (1840), the administrative organization of Nghe An was rearranged and a number of districts were established, including Nghia Duong district. In 1885, King Dong Khanh ascended the throne and changed the name of Nghia Duong district to Nghia Dan because of taboo.

Also on Nghia Dan land, 85 years ago, under the leadership of the Party, in October 1930, at Ru Am cave, Tho Loc commune (now Nghia Duc commune), the first party cell of Nghia Dan was officially established.

After 130 years of being called Nghia Dan, the first 85 Party cells were established, Nghia Dan - a fertile land on the Phu Quy plateau has made great strides in development, building a prosperous and happy life, and making the homeland increasingly rich and beautiful.

The 130th anniversary of the name Nghia Dan and the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the first Party Cell is a cultural and historical revolutionary event of great significance; an opportunity to review the glorious historical journey, to arouse and promote the heroic tradition, the spirit of solidarity, creativity in building and protecting the homeland of generations of cadres, party members and people in Nghia Dan homeland.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, hopes that Nghia Dan district, from its 130-year tradition of being a famous name, will create new driving forces to accelerate development and become the economic center of the Northwest region.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, acknowledged the efforts and achievements of the Nghia Dan District Party Committee in the past time. Emphasizing a number of tasks that the Party Committee and people of all ethnic groups in Nghia Dan District need to pay attention to in the coming time, such as continuing to attract large projects to exploit the potential strengths of the locality; building and developing the rural areas comprehensively; continuing to build Nghia Dan people to converge the quintessence of cultural identity, creating new momentum to successfully implement the goal of building Nghia Dan into the economic center of the Northwest region of Nghe An province, a new rural district in the period of 2015-2020.
