Nghia Dan strives to complete vaccination for livestock before December 10

(Baonghean.vn) - Up to now, 25 communes and towns of Nghia Dan district have simultaneously launched vaccination campaigns for livestock and poultry.

Currently, Nghia Dan has transferred more than 24,350 thousand doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine and 8,300 doses of swine erysipelas; 17,050 doses of erysipelas for buffalo and cows to the facility. Accordingly, the task is assigned to veterinary staff to go to each household to vaccinate. Mr. Le Trong Can, Vice Chairman of Nghia Lac Commune People's Committee, said: The commune has 6 hamlets, it is expected to complete vaccination for 850 buffaloes and cows within 15 days.

According to Mr. Luong Xuan Thang, Men hamlet, Nghia Lac commune: For livestock breeders like us, buffalo is the capital of our business, so if we are negligent in not vaccinating, it will not only damage our family's large assets but also affect the livestock and poultry of other people in the area.

In Nghia Lam commune, there are currently 1,244 buffaloes, 1,650 pigs, 1,100 goats and over 18,000 poultry. To ensure vaccination according to plan, the commune has established a steering committee from commune to hamlet, accordingly announcing the specific vaccination schedule on the commune's public address system to avoid people grazing their livestock early. In addition, vehicles and materials including dozens of sprayers have been mobilized for disinfection spraying.

Mr. Cao Minh Duc, Head of the Veterinary Station of Nghia Dan District, said: The whole district has more than 24 thousand buffaloes, cows, 37 thousand pigs and over 80 thousand poultry, and is also the district with the largest concentration of dairy cows in the province, so vaccination is given great attention by the district. Accordingly, with drastic propaganda and direction measures, Nghia Dan is determined to complete the set plan by December 10, 2017.
