US Secretary of State John Kerry calls for lifting of embargo against Cuba
On October 5, US Secretary of State John Kerry called on US lawmakers to lift the five-decade-long trade embargo against Cuba, THX reported.

According to him, the US will continue to gradually normalize relations with Cuba, which were seriously deteriorated under the administration of President John F. Kennedy.
Cuba believes that this embargo remains one of the major obstacles to normalizing bilateral relations with Washington, in addition to the issue of the US occupation of Guantanamo./.
