Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov calls on UN to initiate arbitration proceedings against US
(Baonghean.vn) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called on United Nations Secretary-General Antony Guterres to initiate arbitration proceedings against the US.

Speaking at the UN General Assembly session, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the US had violated its obligations under the 1947 UN Headquarters Agreement, including refusing to issue visas to Russian diplomats and some other countries when participating in UN events.
According to Foreign Minister Lavrov, "the current situation requires Secretary-General Guterres to promptly initiate arbitration proceedings to punish the United States." This has been mentioned many times in relevant resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly.
Under the 1947 UN “Headquarters Agreement,” the US is generally required to allow foreign diplomats access to the UN. However, Washington has said it may deny visas for “security, terrorism, and foreign policy” reasons.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the US has repeatedly “repeatedly refused to grant entry visas” to a number of Russian delegates attending UN events. This is “alarming” in recent times.
Earlier, at a private meeting with UN Secretary General Antony Guterres, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov presented a book, which includes documents on the 2014 Maidan coup, denouncing the "genocide" of the Ukrainian government in Donbass, as well as a collection of documentary videos "Children of Donbass".
The Russian Foreign Ministry said the document recounts "tragic events" and "genocide" committed by Kiev against the people of Donbass in eastern Ukraine during the eight-year conflict. The Russian Foreign Ministry said the document provides evidence of "tragic events" and more than 600 "genocide" committed by Kiev against the people of Donbass in eastern Ukraine during the eight-year conflict.
Russia accuses the Ukrainian government of committing, among other things, human rights violations, genocide in Donbass, glorifying Nazism, neo-fascism and extremism.
The documents also contain information about the huge amount of weapons that NATO members have provided to Ukraine, as well as evidence that Kiev is withdrawing from the Minsk agreement to end the conflict in the east of the country.
