President Zelensky replaces generals as defenses in Donbass breached
This is the third time in less than a year that President Zelensky has had to replace the commander of Ukrainian forces in Donbass.

According to RIA Novosti on January 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed the commander of the ground forces, Mikhail Drapaty, to lead the Khortitsa army group in the direction of Donetsk.
“Today I ordered to strengthen the command of our troops in the Donetsk region – Major General Mikhail Drapaty was sent to command the operational-strategic group “Khortitsa”. These are the most brutal areas of the battle,” President Zelensky announced on his Telegram channel.
This appointment by the Kiev authorities comes after the Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of the Velikaya Novoselka settlement on January 26 - the last main defense line and logistics center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction of Yuzhnodonetsk.
This is the third time in less than a year that Ukraine has replaced the commander of the Khortytsia forces, the group responsible for defending much of Ukraine's eastern front.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian units have lost up to 1,470 servicemen in different directions.
Russian forces are advancing in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, moving towards Pokrovsk, circling the city from the south and trying to cut off supply routes to the Ukrainian army.
