Russian Foreign Minister: US plans to supply weapons to Venezuelan opposition
The Russian Foreign Minister said that the US plans in the near future to purchase small arms, mortars, mobile air defense systems from Eastern Europe and airlift them near Venezuela.

According to Sputniknews, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on March 1 that Moscow is concerned about the US's plan to buy weapons in Eastern Europe to arm the opposition in Venezuela.
Speaking during talks with Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, Mr. Lavrov said: "We are concerned about the US plan to arm rebel forces in order to destabilize the situation in Venezuela."
Mr. Lavrov also stated that the information received shows that the US plans in the near future to purchase small arms, mortars, mobile air defense systems and some other weapons in one of the Eastern European countries, then airlift them to near Venezuela.
According to him, Moscow as well as Venezuela's neighboring countries clearly see the US's intention to arm the Venezuelan opposition.
In addition, Mr. Lavrov also said that Russia is providing wheat to support Venezuela, but did not give specifics./.
