On this occasion, the Provincial Newspaper, Radio and Television had a conversation with Mr. Le Van Quyen - Principal of the school.

PV: Dear teacher,Thanh Chuong 3 High School is located in the areasemi-mountainous area, teaching and learning conditions are still difficult. In that context, the schoolhas concretized learning and following Uncle Ho through actions,What specific model or movement?

Mr. Le Van Quyen:For us, learning and following Uncle Ho is not a slogan, but a journey to build personality, morality and intelligence for each cadre, teacher and student. From that spirit, the whole school always associates learning and following Uncle Ho with teaching innovation, improving the quality of education and comprehensive development.

In addition, the spirit of “for everyone” is spread through volunteer activities, blood donation, building charity houses, supporting disadvantaged students and fostering solidarity between Catholics and non-Catholics in the community. With 8 parishes in the enrollment area, the school actively coordinates with parish priests and local authorities, doing a good job of mass mobilization, encouraging students to go to school, overcoming difficulties and excelling in their studies.

PV:Through the implementation process, how have teachers and students of the school changed in awareness, attitude and action when learning from Uncle Ho's example?

Mr. Le Van Quyen:Previously, learning from Uncle Ho was just a formality, but now it has become a conscious practice in each person. Teachers are more responsible and dedicated to their profession; students are more honest, polite and willing to share. The movements of “Good study hours” and “Good deeds” are maintained regularly and spread strongly.

Through the implementation process, I have seen that teachers and students have changed very clearly. Many models and innovative teaching initiatives have been born, many typical examples have appeared. The pedagogical environment is increasingly friendly, disciplined and humane.

The most profound thing to keep in mind when studying and following Uncle Ho is to set an example, saying goes with doing.,I take responsibility, dedication and honesty as the standard in all work. I always remind myself to be close, listen, understand my comrades, colleagues and students, create an environment for everyone to develop their capacity and creativity.

PV: The educational environment has its own unique characteristics with thousands of students and many other relationships. So inmanagement and teaching work,teacherhave you ever been in a situation whereteacherRemember Uncle Ho's teachings and use them as a guide for action?

Mr. Le Van Quyen:There were several times during the previous school year when I had to deal with some serious violations of school rules by students. Initially, many teachers suggested that the students be punished severely as a deterrent. But then they remembered Uncle Ho's words:“For the benefit of ten years, plant trees. For the benefit of a hundred years, cultivate people.”, I realized that the most important thing is education, not punishment.

I spent time meeting, talking, and listening to the children's situations, most of which were due to difficult family circumstances, lack of love and responsibility from the family, especially parents. Some of the children's parents were divorced, no one took care of them, living with grandparents or relatives, leading to making mistakes, lack of effort in life and study, being lured and enticed by bad people... After that, the school coordinated with the homeroom teacher and the school's Youth Union to help the children realize the goals, meanings and core values, humanity of life and from there the children gradually progressed, corrected their mistakes, and rose up in life and study.

Now, I have become a progressive student, active in movements. That situation helps me understand more deeply Uncle Ho's teaching: Education must be done with love and faith in people.

Mr. Le Van Quyen: Story One, I always remember the image of students who live far away, and cannot go home at noon and have to stay at school. Some eat bread, others make instant noodles with hot water, and some bring cold rice from early morning. Seeing them working so hard, I asked: "If our school had a cafeteria to serve lunch for teachers and students, would you like it?". All of them happily replied: "That would be great, teacher!". That simple answer made me think. I and many teachers also work far away from home, and have to eat lunch at restaurants with high prices and poor conditions. I realized that if there was a collective cafeteria, teachers and students would have less difficulty and be more connected. From that thought, I started to mobilize sponsorship. Fortunately, that idea was strongly responded by a business and former students in Hanoi and Nghe An.

Thanks to that cooperation, the school's communal dining hall has been built and maintained for nearly 5 years now, serving thousands of meals to teachers and students every year. Not only that, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the kitchen also cooked hundreds of free meals to send to quarantine areas and people in flood-affected areas. Many businesses, philanthropists and former students have donated dozens of tons of rice to maintain this activity. That action touched everyone, because it demonstrated the spirit of love and sharing - true to Uncle Ho's teachings:"Whatever is beneficial to the people, we must do our best."

The second storyis a journey to nurture excellent students, aiming to have students recognized by the Provincial People's Committee. When I proposed this policy, many people were afraid: "A school with remote and difficult conditions like Thanh Chuong 3 High School cannot compare with schools in favorable areas!". But I believe that if we have faith, method and perseverance, we can do it. The core teachers and I selected capable students, both encouraging and accompanying them in their studies. In the first year, the results were not as expected - only 1 student achieved the National Runner-up in Block C but lacked a bit of luck. I encouraged the group: "We have already touched that achievement, next year we will definitely do it!".

And sure enough, the following school year,Thanh Chuong 3 High SchoolThere were 2 students who achieved Valedictorian status out of a total of 6 Valedictorians in Nghe An province; the following year, there were students who continued to be recognized by the Provincial People's Committee. Notably, in the 2024-2025 school year, the school had 4 students with excellent achievements in the graduation and university entrance exams, of which 2 were Valedictorians in the top universities. For 3 consecutive years, the school had 4 Valedictorians and 4 students recognized by the Provincial People's Committee - a result that far exceeded initial expectations, demonstrating the spirit of daring to think, daring to do and constantly striving of the teachers and students of Thanh Chuong 3 High School.
