Passion for exploration and discovery of the Valedictorian of Civic Education

They are Vi Min Thong - Valedictorian of Civic Education with 16.75 points and Dang Thi Mai Lam - Valedictorian of Biology with 18.25 points. Both are students of class 9A and are of Thai ethnicity.

Vi Min Thong was born into a farming family in Vang Lin village, Yen Thang commune. In addition to farming, Thong's parents also worked as freelancers, doing whatever jobs they could find, as long as they had extra income to support Thong and his brother's education. Aware of the difficult family situation, Thong always studied hard and studied well to not let his parents down. With a diligent and hardworking nature, and a sense of responsibility in studying and training, from grade 1 to grade 9, Thong always achieved the title of Excellent Student and Advanced Student.

“Civic Education is a very interesting subject, so I have researched and studied the subject and discovered its issues. This subject helps me form moral qualities such as: diligence, perseverance, politeness, gratitude, understanding and respect for discipline, law, love for people... From there, it helps me control my own behavior” - Vi Min Thong happily shared.

Vi Min Thong “revealed” that one of the experiences to study Civic Education well is: First of all, you must be diligent, hard-working, and industrious. At the same time, in the evenings after finishing your homework, you will spend time reading, studying the new lesson and outlining the main ideas of the lesson so that when you go to class, you can absorb the lesson faster and more deeply.

Commenting on her student Vi Min Thong, Ms. Truong Quynh Chi, a Civic Education teacher at Tuong Duong Boarding Ethnic Minority High School, said: “Min Thong is a well-behaved student, obedient to teachers, and highly conscious in studying as well as in all activities. Not only is he good at studying, he also sings well, has a talent for painting, and actively participates in cultural and artistic activities of the class and school. During the learning and reviewing process, he learns quickly, is intelligent, eager to learn, passionate about learning, likes to explore and research social issues, and loves to read books.

Gift for parents of the valedictorian of Biology

As for the valedictorian "Little Pepper" Dang Thi Mai Lam, she is not only good at Biology but also good at Math and English.

The fact that Mai Lam was the valedictorian in the recent exam was not too surprising to the teachers and classmates of class 9A, because throughout her time studying and training at school, she was an intelligent, bright student who always studied and trained hard.

It is known that from grade 6-7, Mai Lam was passionate about studying Math and English. In district level competitions, Mai Lam always won prizes. However, when she was in grade 8, she became interested and passionate about Biology.

To achieve today's results is a tireless effort of Mai Lam, she always reminds herself to be diligent and determined in studying. In each class hour at school, she concentrates highly on the lectures of the teachers to understand the lessons, tries to complete the exercises in class and asks the teachers to answer questions and lessons that she does not understand. At the same time, she also proactively asks for more exercises from the teachers at school to study and practice by herself after class hours.

Dang Thi Mai Lam said: “My father is a freelancer, my mother is a teacher in the border commune of Nhon Mai, my father's job is very busy and tiring. Meanwhile, my mother teaches far from home, studies and lives at school, and only comes home once a month, so she can't help my father with housework. I love my father and mother, I only know how to set a goal of studying well to make my parents happy and every achievement I achieve is a gift for my parents."

In recent years, implementing the 2018 General Education Program, the school has focused on education with the aim of comprehensively developing students through collective activities, outside of regular hours such as: culture - arts, physical education - sports... Along with the passion and dedication of staff, teachers and the efforts of students, in the recent Provincial 9th ​​Grade Excellent Student Competition, the school won 2 First prizes, 4 Second prizes, 4 Third prizes and 4 Encouragement prizes.
