Fishermen said that the hot weather of over 40 degrees Celsius in recent days has affected their health as well as their seafood catching. For boats that go out to sea to fish for 1 day and 1 night or more, they are forced to invest in more ice to preserve the freshness of the seafood; while small-capacity boats that catch the same day do not need to use ice, but leave the port very early. Fisherman Nguyen Van Linh in Dien Bich commune (Dien Chau) said that his boat fishes for 1 day and 1 night, on hot days the amount of ice must be nearly doubled to be enough to preserve the seafood.
