Quynh Luu fishermen win over 1 billion VND from exporting hairtail fish
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 26, at Lach Quen port (Quynh Luu), dozens of large-capacity boats docked. This fishing trip had fishermen hit the jackpot with an export catch of hairtail fish worth more than 1.1 billion VND.
Arriving at Lach Quen port at the time when fishing boats have just returned from offshore. Crowds of people and vehicles are bustling in and out of the port to transport and purchase seafood.

Mr. Duong Long - Owner of fishing boat NA - 98889 TS in Quynh Nghia commune said that his fishing boat went out to sea for 9 days and caught more than 8 tons of needlefish and silver pomfret. Compared to previous trips, this trip his fishing boat caught more, with a total income of more than 500 million VND; after deducting expenses, each crew member on the boat earned 7 million VND/person.
It is known that many fishing boats that docked this time all had a big catch of hairtail, small boats caught nearly 1 ton, large boats caught 5-6 tons. Notably, a boat owned by fisherman Nguyen Van Sy in Phong Thai village, Tien Thuy commune, caught 15 tons of various types of fish in 5 days; hairtail alone caught 11 tons, earning a total income of about 1.1 billion VND.

According to Ms. Pham Thi Tan - a seafood trader at Lach Quen port: This time, fishermen's fishing boats caught more than usual, especially needlefish. Currently, we buy needlefish at 130,000 VND/kg for large ones, 80,000 VND/kg for small ones; silver pomfret at 30,000 - 40,000 VND/kg, squid at 130,000 VND/kg.

After transporting the fish to the wharf, all seafood is purchased by local establishments for processing or transported to many places for consumption; along with that, many fishing boats of fishermen are also urgently transporting ice, raw materials, and necessities for the next sea trip.
