(Baonghean.vn) - For generations, the people of My Ly commune (Ky Son) living at the headwaters of the Nam Non river have only been familiar with raising livestock and growing crops. Now, the people's lives are gradually improving as the village has homestay services associated with sightseeing and experiencing scenic spots imbued with the cultural identity of the people.

After welcoming the first group of guests of the new year of the Cat to experience homestay services in her village, Ms. Vi Thi Dan in Yen Hoa village, My Ly commune (Ky Son) immediately "showed off" beautiful, joyful images of the host and tourists on social networks. Relatives and friends happily congratulated and shared Ms. Dan's joy in the first days of the new spring.

Mr. Vi Van Dung, who also participated in welcoming the group of guests with Ms. Dan and the villagers, said that for the first time in My Ly commune, there is a homestay service. “We are very happy that the authorities at all levels have supported people to access new economic development methods, suitable to local capabilities and conditions. Everyone is happy to make the most of their abilities so that the new profession in their village can last long, helping many households to become prosperous.”

Yen Hoa village is located on the bank of Nam Mo river, with 92 households living there. Yen Hoa is one of the villages of My Ly border commune, located at the headwaters of Nam Non river flowing from Laos. With a very special geographical location, leaning against the mountain behind, facing the river, the scenery here is harmonious and beautiful. Perhaps that is why nearly a thousand years ago, our ancestors chose Yen Hoa land to build a towering ancient tower, which is likened to a lighthouse on the mountain illuminating the entire border of the Fatherland.

Thanks to that, when coming to Yen Hoa, in addition to visiting the brocade weaving village, directly experiencing the process of growing mulberry, raising silkworms, dyeing fabric with natural leaves and weaving fabric on the loom, tourists can also admire the ancient moss-covered thousand-year-old tower and mysterious spiritual stories.

We had the opportunity to visit and experience the tourism services here. Mr. Kha Nghe, one of the three households participating in building a homestay in Yen Hoa village, said that all services are provided by the villagers. Food for tourists such as chicken, pork, vegetables, tubers, and fruits are all raised and grown by the villagers themselves; some vegetables and fruits are taken from the mountains and forests; fish are caught from the river.

The dishes all have the typical culinary style of the Thai ethnic group, prepared by the people themselves according to recipes passed down through many generations.

In addition, the service prices are also agreed upon by the households at a reasonable level. For sleeping and resting places, the price is 80,000 VND/person/night. Food services are calculated based on a meal for 6 people, with prices ranging from 600,000 VND to 1 million VND depending on the request of the tourists.

It is known that in My Ly commune, there is not only Yen Hoa ancient tower, but also natural caves with beautiful stalactites that are not known to many tourists, such as Tham Lan cave in Xieng Tam village.

Staying in Yen Hoa, each tourist spends about 300,000 VND to experience a boat ride along the Nam Non River, visit the ancient tower, the brocade weaving village and enjoy the bamboo dance festival, rice wine and typical culinary dishes. Currently, Yen Hoa has 3 households building homestays for sleeping and resting. Other culinary, cultural and artistic experiences are undertaken by the Women's Union, the service team in combination with the Folk Song Club and the Yen Hoa Village Management Board. At the end of 2022 - the beginning of 2023, the village welcomed about 10 groups of visitors.
