(Baonghean.vn) - These days, farmers in the mountainous district of Ky Son are urgently preparing food and goods to serve the Tet market. This year, in addition to clean agricultural products such as vegetables and fruits, local people also focus on investing in and developing livestock.

With a large-scale farm, raising many types of livestock and poultry, selling large quantities to the market every year, at this time, Ms. Vi Thi Minh's family, Xop Nhi village, Huu Lap commune, Ky Son district, is focusing on taking care of her livestock, with a total of nearly 400 chickens, 250 commercial geese, and 50 pigs.

Ms. Minh said: "Every year, the number of livestock and poultry raised by the family is not enough to meet the demand of buyers. Therefore, on the occasion of Tet this year, the family invested in expanding the barn area to increase the herd." With the current number of livestock, it is estimated that Ms. Minh's family will earn from 200 to 250 million VND.".

At Khe Nhinh Cooperative, which specializes in producing and supplying clean vegetables, members are busy working on a vegetable field of over 25 hectares to meet market demand during this Lunar New Year.

Ky Son is a mountainous district with large land potential, suitable for livestock development such as: buffaloes, cows, pigs, and poultry... In 2017, the whole Ky Son district had 66 thousand buffaloes, cows, and 3,500 poultry of all kinds, and a herd of about 2,800 pigs.

With the advantage of temperate climate, it is very favorable for developing the farming of black chickens, black pigs, local yellow cows and clean agricultural products such as taro, squash, Mong cabbage... Most of the products are grown by ethnic minorities, ensuring food hygiene and safety, reasonable prices and are popular with many people.
