People in the flood-prone area of ​​Thanh Chuong were excited to receive rescue boats.

Phu Lap hamlet, Thanh Xuan commune (Thanh Chuong) has 197 households. Every year during the flood season, it is often deeply flooded, especially the residential area of ​​the old Xuan Hoa hamlet is completely isolated. People's lives are quite difficult, especially in terms of escaping floods and moving assets.

During the recent flood, dozens of houses in the hamlet were submerged. The hamlet’s rescue team worked continuously to evacuate people, move rice, transport people to the hospital, transport relief goods, etc.

In 2020, the children in the neighborhood donated money to buy a rescue boat. However, during the flood season, many people need help. Having another boat to use as a rescue vehicle when natural disasters occur is the wish of the people.

To support the people, on this occasion, a charity group from Hanoi donated a composite boat with an engine worth 34 million VND (can carry more than 10 people) and 100 gifts, each worth 500,000 VND, along with many medicines. The total value of the gifts was nearly 100 million VND.

The gifts were given by the hamlet to households that were severely flooded and those in particularly difficult circumstances in the hamlet. While visiting the flooded families, the group also gave gifts to the households.

Mr. Nguyen Van Canh, head of Phu Lap hamlet, Thanh Xuan commune, shared: "Our people are very excited when the charity group from Hanoi visited and gave us many valuable gifts, especially a rescue boat to help people during the flood season."
