The person who diligently trains skills for the youth in the neighborhood

(Baonghean.vn) - Uniting and gathering rural youth is a difficult task for many youth union branches. However, the Luan Hoa Youth Union branch in Dong Van commune, Thanh Chuong district always attracts a large number of members and young people to participate in activities. The branch has become a bright spot for many other units to learn from.

Since his school days, Pham Viet Tung (born in 1988) has loved Youth Union and Association activities and volunteered to contribute to the community. After graduating, with his passion for Youth Union work, he participated in local Youth Union activities and has been Secretary of the Luan Hoa Youth Union since 2012.

Tung commented that, compared to schools, youth union work in villages is not as favorable because the youth union members are diverse in terms of education levels, so gathering and attracting young people to participate in activities is difficult.

Based on that reality, he oriented himself to be proactive and creative in both form and content of activities, avoiding boredom and stiffness. Besides, he had to be close to the Youth Union members to understand their thoughts and aspirations towards the Youth Union organization.

As Secretary, Tung regularly organizes meetings for Youth Union members, enhances cultural activities at meetings; organizes monthly birthday parties for members integrated into the activities of the Youth Union branches. At meetings, he takes the opportunity to learn about the hobbies, strengths, and interests of young people and members to create an attractive playground.

Realizing that most young people today want to improve their communication, behavior, and critical thinking skills, Mr. Tung founded a Drama Club. Through this, he regularly organizes exchanges of interesting plays so that members of the village have the opportunity to express their thoughts and opinions on issues of interest to young people. Moreover, applying the knowledge and experience he learned at the Journalism School, he also helps his friends equip themselves with the "soft skills" necessary in life.

In addition, understanding the health training needs of young union members, Tung organized the establishment of a football club, maintaining activities once a week on Sunday afternoons and organizing football exchanges with other union branches.

Along with cultural and sports activities, the Youth Union always promptly commends and honors those with excellent academic achievements as well as active participation in activities. These are familiar images to the Youth Union members, creating motivation for other Youth Union members to feel that they can also strive to become a useful and recognized Youth Union member. Although the gifts are very small in daily activities, they have created a lively atmosphere for Youth Union activities.

These new and practical ways have been effective as the number of youth union members participating in branch activities has increased, the collective has become more cohesive and the activities of the Union have become more stable.

With his dedication to Youth Union activities, Mr. Tung continuously received certificates of merit from the Commune Youth Union and District Youth Union for his achievements in Youth Union work and youth movements in the locality.

Secretary of the Luan Hoa Youth Union always believes that "As a young person, live with ideals, devote yourself, bring enthusiasm to the community, contribute a small part of your efforts to society, that is also the environment for you to practice and mature".

Not only is he active and creative in the Youth Union activities, Pham Viet Tung is also an exemplary Party member, daring to think and act. When assigned tasks by the Party Committee, he does not hesitate and is always proactive in taking the lead in everything. Currently, he is a member of the Legal Committee of the Commune People's Council and Director of the Commune Radio Station. With the trust and support of the Party Committee and the people, Mr. Tung was elected as a Delegate of the Commune People's Council for the 2017-2021 term.
