Female ferry driver was killed and her body was thrown into the river.
A woman rowing a boat to take tourists in Tien Giang was murdered, robbed of money and gold worth 60 million VND, and her body was thrown into the river.
On the morning of April 30, Tien Giang Provincial Police found the body of Ms. Pham Thi Le Khanh (42 years old, from My Tho City) drifting on the Tien River.
Two nights ago, locals discovered Ms. Khanh’s tourist boat, which she used to transport passengers every day, drifting on the Tien River, so they pulled it and anchored it to a fish raft. Upon inspection, they found the boat’s belongings had been ransacked, with blood stains and a knife.
Through examination of the scene and autopsy, police determined that Ms. Khanh was murdered, robbed of property worth about 60 million VND, and then her body was thrown into the river.
Khanh’s family said she was divorced, homeless, and made a living ferrying tourists. She often wore a lot of gold.
