“To be able to use your hands like a normal person is impossible, but in “difficulty often comes the mother of invention”, before doing anything, you have to think and calculate to find a solution. The most important thing when riding a bicycle is to keep your balance. In the past, dirt roads were difficult to travel on, and when going through potholes, if you sat on the saddle, you would lose control of the handlebars immediately, so you had to think of a way to stand on the pedals. When standing, your body weight will be on the 2 pedals, so you will never fall” - Mr. Linh revealed. Mr. Linh’s bicycle is also very special, he thought of a way to design the brakes right behind the pedals for easy use when needed. Photo: Diep Phuong

In the 80s of the last century, Mr. Linh used to trade peanuts in Hanoi. On a bicycle, the disabled veteran with two amputated arms still drove normally, going on a trip every 3 days. Gradually, as his health declined, he found a hobby of exploring wild bees and he often went into the forest alone to catch honey bees to raise. Photo: Diep Phuong

Being Mr. Linh's childhood sweetheart, Mrs. Ho Thi Cuc (born in 1950) - a beautiful literature teacher, captivated many village boys, but she overcame all obstacles and decided to live under the same roof with the man who was no longer whole. They have 4 children together, all of whom have grown up, have their own families and live far away. The family currently has 2 grandparents living together in their hometown. Photo: Diep Phuong
