On this occasion, journalists share the joy: celebrating the 91st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2016). A press that has gone through many hardships and challenges to contribute to the development of society and the country. In the wars to defend the country in the 20th century, many journalists fell in the posture of soldiers. That sacrifice inspires journalists today to bravely face the hidden evils and evils, bringing them to light to together build a healthy society, for the development of the country.

The truth is often simple, the simpler the greater. There are many lessons for journalists, but the principles of journalism set by President Ho Chi Minh have become classics, and classic values are never outdated and will go hand in hand with time. During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh, the founder of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism, once reminded journalists: Who to write for, what to write for, and how to write. Time has passed, journalism has changed and can be said to be very different from more than half a century ago, but his advice is still a guiding principle for any journalist. That has become a principle for a journalism for the country and the people.

Society is increasingly raising issues that need to be made public and transparent and need thorough answers. Journalists are like people fishing in the middle of a stream, the water is flowing fast but they still have to jump into the flow and cannot stand on the shore to observe and shout; even more so when the water has stopped, they cannot join in. The flow of information is as turbulent as a flood. The flow of events is relentless. In such circumstances, journalists must be quick to perceive, grasp, detect problems and handle them with a sense of responsibility to society and the conscience of a writer.

The noble duty of a journalist is to seek the truth and publish the truth. As Nguyen Du said, “Having taken on this profession, do not blame the heavens near or far” - journalism has truly become a profession for many people. It haunts people, even creeping into their restless sleep. But that does not mean blaming this difficult profession; on the contrary, true journalists are even more determined and steadfast in their work.

In the process of finding the truth to make it public, it is not always favorable, especially with bad and evil things. In the world, people have classified journalism as a dangerous profession. If not careful, losing your job is easy and losing your life is not an impossible thing. Therefore, one of the qualities of a journalist is courage, bravery and bravery. "The universe cannot be bent", not submitting, not giving up, not bowing and flattering to any force, because the duty of a journalist is to make public the truth when it is still in the dark mist.

However, not all truths become public information, when it only causes horror in society, stimulates the dark side of people. Here, it shows the professional spirit, the media responsibility towards society of the journalist. In the name of responsibility, in the name of courage, giving out information that discourages society, that is not a true journalist.

Nowadays, people feel like the line between mainstream journalism and social media is blurred. Many people are confused. Among journalists, there are also those who are hesitant or unable to cross that line. The choice is up to each person, but the important thing is what choice, whether that choice is beneficial to development or hinders it, destroys it. People have suffered a lot because of unfounded, unverified information on the internet.

The advancement of technology is drastically changing the press and media system. The value and great power of social networks cannot be denied, so we must be more careful and responsible when participating in or receiving information. In the vast ocean of online information, there are so many big waves, so many hidden waves that can drown people, erase the efforts of many people with so many years of preservation and cultivation. It is not possible to simply issue a ban on social networks, but it is time to have strong sanctions against toxic information with bad intentions that negatively impact society.

A democratic and healthy society also means having a democratic and healthy press. Along with fighting against bad and evil, enthusiastically contributing to social development is the noble duty of journalists and media workers. Facing the difficulties in journalism today, we understand more deeply the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh. Who to write for? What to write for? How to write? That is to write for the people, for the country; to write to promote the development of society.

A good heart must go hand in hand with the art of writing, then that heart, that truth can enter society, unite the community, and become the spiritual strength of society. The art of writing, the art of journalism seems simple with a few things that have become standards, but in fact it is a struggle, a constant torment for anyone who has committed to journalism.

In today's sea of information, the responsibility and art of transmitting information of journalists are extremely important. The class of a newspaper and of each journalist can only be achieved when they gain the trust of the general public.
