North Korean leader Kim Jong-un confirms readiness to visit Russia
After talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Chairwoman of the Federation Council (Upper House) of Russia Valentina Matvienko said the North Korean leader affirmed his readiness to visit Russia.

Speaking to reporters, Ms. Matvienko emphasized that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un "wants peace" and Pyongyang needs motivation to promote the denuclearization process on the Korean peninsula.
She also said that Mr. Kim Jong-un will not attend the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
Interfax news agency quoted the Chairman of the Russian Federation Council as saying that North Korea is currently negotiating with the United States on the step-by-step implementation of commitments reached during the summit between leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump in Singapore last June.
Russian Federation Council Chairman Matvienko arrived in Pyongyang to attend the 70th anniversary of the founding of North Korea.
