Europe's largest nuclear power plant is once again a target for Ukraine
(Baonghean.vn) - Since November 2022, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have refrained from attacking the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) - the largest plant in Europe, but now the situation has changed.

According to RT on April 8, Russia's permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna (Austria) Mikhail Ulyanov said that the Ukrainian army's attacks targeted a nearby industrial zone and the city of Energodar, where employees of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant (ZNPP) and their families live.
According to Mr. Ulyanov, April 7 was a milestone marking the ZNPP once again becoming a target of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Russia's permanent representative in Vienna called the Ukrainian military's attacks on the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant a violation of the five principles of protection.
On April 7, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the dome of the nuclear reactor building No. 6 of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant in Energodar. It is reported that no one was injured in the attack and no serious damage was identified.
The Ukrayinska Pravda newspaper reported that the representative of the military intelligence agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andrey Yusov, said that the country's armed forces were not involved in "any armed provocations" on the territory of the ZNPP.
The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, called the attack on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant reckless.
According to the IAEA's conclusion, the damage at ZNPP reactor No. 6 does not pose a risk to nuclear safety.
At the same time, a notice posted by the IAEA on social network X indicated that what happened was a serious incident that could have undermined the integrity of the reactor's containment system.
The Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant has six Soviet-designed VVER-1000 V-320 water-cooled and water-moderated reactors. These reactors contain uranium-235 and also use nuclear fuel at the facility.
According to the Zaporozhye Plant's management board, all six reactors have been shut down./.
