White House invites President Putin to Washington DC
(Baonghean.vn)- On October 26, US National Security Advisor John Bolton said the White House had sent an invitation to Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Washington, DC.
Speaking to reporters, Mr. Bolton stated: "We have invited President Putin to Washington DC." However, it is not yet clear whether the Russian leader has accepted this invitation.
Previously, Russian Presidential Advisor Yuri Ushakov said on October 23 that President Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump are expected to have an official meeting in Paris on November 11.

According to Mr. Ushakov, this plan was confirmed by President Putin at a meeting with US National Security Advisor Bolton in Moscow.
Mr. Ushakov also announced that President Putin and US National Security Advisor John Bolton have reached a preliminary agreement on holding a comprehensive and carefully prepared meeting between the two Russian and US leaders in Paris, on the sidelines of the event commemorating the end of World War I.
Mr. Ushakov said the meeting will be attended by members of delegations from the two countries.
Russia-US relations have had new conflicts when on October 21, President Donald Trump threatened to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, accusing Russia of violating the terms of this agreement.
However, Russia asserts that it strictly complies with the INF, while the US always violates this agreement.
The INF Treaty was signed by the leaders of the former US and Soviet Union on December 8, 1987, according to which, both sides pledged not to produce, test, or deploy medium- and short-range ballistic and cruise missiles (from 500 km to 5,500 km).
