White House responds as US President's sister calls Trump a 'ruthless liar'
White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has dismissed claims of unscrupulousness and dishonesty by US President Donald Trump, made by his sister, Maryanne Trump-Barry.
Meadows told ABC that the claims were a distortion of the character of the man he served under. “The president I had the honor of serving under is not who he is portrayed to be on the secret tape,” he said.
He also criticized Mr. Trump's cousin, who recorded conversations with the US leader's sister, and noted that by such actions she was trying to help US Democratic candidate Joe Biden win the presidential election.
“I can tell you that the president not only prepares well every day, but he does more than any other president that I have had the privilege of knowing, in terms of his desire to believe that we are advancing programs that are critically important to the American people,” Meadows stressed.
Earlier, the media published a secret recording of a conversation between the US President's sister, Maryanne Trump-Barry, in which she called her brother a cruel, unscrupulous liar.
