Ms. Vi Thi Phuong, who specializes in purchasing frogs to supply the market in Khe Ran village, Bong Khe commune (Con Cuong) said that after Tet, the demand from buyers increased so this item sold at a good price.
Currently, frogs cost 80,000 VND/kg, 20,000 VND/kg higher than usual; commercial frogs, after being cleaned, cost 120,000 VND/kg. Despite such high prices, there have been no products for sale for the past few days, the reason being that frogs are scarce at the beginning of the season, while demand is high.

Ms. Vi Thi The - a frog catcher in Khe Ran village, Bong Khe commune said: In addition to farming, in recent years thanks to frog catching, the family has had extra income. At this time, frogs are still scarce, each night the couple goes for 3 hours to catch about 3 - 4 kg, if it is the right season, they will catch 7 - 8 kg, but in return, at the beginning of the season, frogs sell for a higher price.
Frog is a clean food, loved by many people in the mountains. In recent years, at eateries, restaurants, and community tourism spots such as Khe Ran and Ban Nua, frog meat has become a specialty dish for many tourists.
