(Baonghean.vn) - Someone wanted to buy drugs, so Lo Van Coong looked for a Laotian to ask about the source of the goods. The Laotian told Coong to sell 8 bags of opium and would pay him 200,000 VND.

On September 10, the Provincial People's Court opened a first-instance criminal trial to try the case.“Illegal drug trafficking”for Lo Van Coong (born 1989), residing in Huu Lap commune, Ky Son district.

On March 19, Lo Van Coong was asked by a stranger if he knew anyone selling drugs, Coong said he would ask for them. The next day, Coong went into the forest and met a Laotian who said someone wanted to buy opium. The Laotian said he only had 8 bags of opium left, if he could sell it, he would pay Coong 200,000 VND.

On the evening of March 22, Coong and the drug buyer made an appointment to agree on a price. The customer agreed to buy each bag of heroin for 3.8 million VND. Coong called the Laotian to give the goods to Coong to deliver to the customer. After receiving 8 packages of heroin (weighing more than 151g) from the Laotian, Lo Van Coong took them to a motel room in Chieu Luu commune to sell, but was discovered and arrested by the Ky Son district police. The customer took advantage of the chaos to quickly escape.

At the trial, Lo Van Coong confessed honestly, admitted his crime and hoped to receive leniency from the law.

Considering the entire case, the aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the panel sentenced Lo Van Coong to 20 years in prison.
