At West Ham's home ground, Man City with a super strong squad including all the best players like Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva completely dominated the game. However, it was not until the 33rd minute that their dominance was concretized with a penalty goal by midfielder Yaya Toure. This player had the opportunity to open the score when his teammate Pablo Zabaleta was fouled by Angelo Ogbonna in the penalty area.

With the opening goal, things became much easier for Man City, in the context that West Ham were forced to attack rather than defend as before. Right in the first half, the visitors scored 2 more quick goals in the 41st and 43rd minutes to create a safe gap. The players who put their names on the scoreboard were Havard Nordtveit (own goal) and David Silva, the Spanish midfielder who controlled the ball and made goalkeeper Adrian miss before easily putting the ball into the net from close range.

Five minutes into the second half, striker Aguero showed his agility and good positioning with a sensitive touch that redirected Toure's powerful shot. As a result, poor West Ham goalkeeper Adrian had to pick the ball out of the net once again.

With West Ham having 33% possession and only 7 shots throughout the match (Man City had 18), it was no surprise that they couldn't even get a consolation goal. For their part, Man City, thanks to their relaxed mentality and excellent ability to impose their style of play, scored another goal in the 84th minute.
During one attack, centre-back John Stones jumped high and headed the ball into the far corner. Although Mark Noble was standing close to the post trying to clear the ball, slow-motion replays showed that West Ham deserved to concede as the ball crossed the goal line many times.
