Japan kills wild boars because there are too many
Japan is looking at ways to encourage women to take up hunting to protect farms from attacks by wild animals such as deer and boars.
According to the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, since 2008, farmers in this country have lost 23 billion yen (170 million USD) due to the sharp increase in deer, wild boars, monkeys and birds.
According to Reuters, the number of deer has increased from 400,000 to over 3 million since the late 1990s. Similarly, the number of wild boars has doubled to 1 million. The increase in the number of wild animals has had a significant impact on the Japanese people.

Therefore, Japan is looking for many measures to encourage women to participate in hunting to protect farms from attacks by wild animals such as deer or wild boars.
According to statistics from the Japan National Hunting Association, of the 105,000 registered hunters in Japan, two-thirds are over 60 years old and only 1,169 hunters are female.
Women are becoming important protectors of ranches from wildlife attacks. The National Hunting Association even has a blog where women write about their hunting experiences.
