(Baonghean.vn) - Japanese media channels have broadcast a television program across the country, through which the government advises people on how to protect themselves in the event of a North Korean missile attack.

In the 30-second announcement, the Japanese government offers practical tips on the most effective ways to seek shelter if a missile is fired toward Japan from Pyongyang.

Accordingly, the government recommends that people seek shelter in solid buildings or underground, as well as hide behind objects, lie flat on the floor, stay away from windows and protect their heads if inside a building.

Additionally, in the event of a missile attack, the J-Alert missile early warning system, which relies on satellites launched into orbit, will notify the public through loudspeakers across the country.

The Tokyo government's announcement will be broadcast on 43 television stations across the country between now and early July, while written instructions are being published in 70 Japanese newspapers.

In April, the Japanese government ordered regional authorities to conduct evacuation drills and release survival guidelines to the public, the first time the government has released such documents since World War II.

The Japanese government's decision to issue safety guidelines for its citizens comes amid rising tensions in the region as North Korea continues to defy international sanctions with its recent missile launches./.
