Dirty Hoang Mai market on "golden land"

(Baonghean.vn)- Located on a “golden land” right in the center of the town, Hoang Mai market (in Quynh Thien ward) was once expected to become a bustling trading place for the town’s residents. However, after 15 years, the market has seriously degraded and become shabby, causing loss of urban beauty.

The market floor is currently damp and muddy during the rainy season.Hoang Mai Market started construction in 2001 on an area of ​​10,000 m², including a market hall of 2,500 m² and several rows of tents south of the market hall. The market was completed and put into use in January 2002.

After many years, the market became an abandoned area, seriously degraded.

Faced with the market's deterioration, the People's Committee of Quynh Thien Ward repeatedly called for investment and two businesses came to survey, sign contracts, and prepare documents to request approval from the Town People's Committee and the Provincial People's Committee. However, because the market is located in the planning of the 64-hectare Tan Mai Urban Area project of Nghe An Petroleum Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company, the documents were not approved.The traders do not do business in the communal house but sit scattered outside in temporary tents near the road.

Currently, Hoang Mai market is under contract by Quynh Thien Ward People's Committee to be handed over to Mr. Nguyen Ba Vung, Bac My block, Quynh Thien ward to manage and collect taxes.

It is worth mentioning that although the urban area project was approved in 2009, it has not been implemented yet, so in 2014 the Town People's Committee sent a document requesting the Provincial People's Committee to withdraw the project. Up to now, the project has only recovered half of the area.Hoang Mai town was established more than 2 years ago but until now there is still no commercial center or market worthy of the urban development. Meanwhile, this “golden land” is being wasted every day.
