Enthusiasm of the Secretary of the Tho ethnic group

Quick, energetic, enthusiastic – these are the words that many people recognize when referring to Mr. Le Van Quy - Secretary of the Youth Union of Nghia Yen commune (Nghia Dan). The 9X generation Tho ethnic man always believes that "As a young person, we must take the lead in following Uncle Ho's teachings, promoting the spirit and youthfulness for the development of our homeland".
Meeting Mr. Le Van Quy while he was working as a "lecturer" at the Youth Union sympathy class organized by the Commune Youth Union, we saw Mr. Quy's confident style of inspiring young people through lessons about the history of the Communist Party of Vietnam, about Uncle Ho, and about the Youth Union. Mr. Quy "taught the class" with passion and enthusiasm, with a close and lively way of conveying, attracting the attention and receptivity of the Youth Union members and young people.

Born in 1993, in the village of Nghia Yen - a remote commune of Nghia Dan district, after finishing high school, the Tho ethnic boy Le Van Quy chose to stay in his hometown to start a career. Initially, he participated in the Youth Union work in the hamlet, in 2012, he was elected to the Standing Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Commune Youth Union. In 2019, Le Van Quy was assigned to hold the position of Secretary of the Youth Union at the age of 26 - the youngest commune-level Youth Union Secretary in Nghia Dan district.
Mr. Quy said that when he was assigned to be the youth leader of his commune, he could not help but worry, because the current Youth Union movement in rural areas has its own characteristics and difficulties such as: The number of union members and young people is small; most young people work far away; so gathering and mobilizing to participate in activities is not easy. With enthusiasm and responsibility, Mr. Quy and the Executive Committee of the Commune Youth Union closely coordinated with organizations to organize practical and meaningful movements and attract union members and young people to respond and participate, receiving the support of the people.
Since then, many practical activities have been actively participated in by the Youth Union such as: Youth Union participates in cleaning rural roads, protecting the environment, helping families with meritorious services; coordinating to build flag roads, playgrounds for children, planting trees, organizing children's soccer tournaments, youth volleyball tournaments...
In particular, from 2017 to present, the Commune Youth Union has organized 5 "Lighting up green dreams" art programs to raise funds to support students in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of more than 100 million VND. In 2020, the Commune Youth Union was selected to do a district-level project to build and pour concrete for the stadium fence and plant trees in Dong Hung village, and distribute free medicine in Lam Sinh village...

As a youth leader of the commune, Mr. Le Van Quy mobilized union members and young people to participate in building new rural areas; clearing and building rural roads, donating land and fences to open roads. Mr. Le Van Quy shared: “I always try to be a bridge to bring the Party's guidelines and the State's policies to union members, youth and people. In particular, I focus on tasks that are close to the lives of youth and people, so that each young person will be more aware and responsible in building their hometown, hamlet, village…”.
Mr. Le Van Quy always determined to actively study and follow Uncle Ho's example from the ordinary, simple things every day. Along with his enthusiasm in the Youth Union work, Mr. Quy is also exemplary in economic development. In addition to working hours at the office, with local activities, he goes to the forest to take care of acacia and rubber gardens, harvest guava... each year bringing in an income of more than 150 million VND for his family.
Mr. Truong Hung Dung - Deputy Secretary of Nghia Dan District Youth Union added: “Mr. Le Van Quy is always active, enthusiastic, taking the lead in implementing and participating in movements launched by the district. He is not afraid of difficulties, not afraid of hardships, organizing many practical movements, bearing the imprint of the Union. At the recent 25th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghia Dan District, he was elected to the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the District Youth Union, term XXV and is a delegate to the 18th Provincial Youth Union Congress, term 2022 - 2027".

With the results achieved, Mr. Le Van Quy was commended and rewarded by the Party Committee, government, and Youth Union at all levels. He is a Party member for many years and has been classified as having excellently completed his tasks; typically in the 5 years of implementing Directive No. 05 of the Politburo on "Promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle", in the period of 2016 - 2021, he was commended by the Standing Committee of the Nghia Dan District Party Committee; and was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union and the District Youth Union for his work and in the Summer Volunteer Campaign.
Nghia Yen Commune Youth Union has been ranked by the District Youth Union as having excellently completed its tasks for 3 consecutive years (2020-2022). Mr. Le Van Quy is a typical ethnic minority youth of Nghe An province in 2022. He was also nominated as a Youth Union official to receive the Ly Tu Trong Award at the provincial level by the Provincial Youth Union.
