Many flights to Vinh City had to be canceled due to storm No. 2
Domestic airlines have announced the suspension of at least 18 flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh and Dong Hoi.
Due to the impact of storm Talas - expected to make landfall in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh tonight and early tomorrow morning, Vietnam Airlines announced the suspension of four flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh, including VN1714, VN1715, VN1268, and VN1269 on the evening of July 16. The airline will make up for the flights on July 17.
Vietjet Air also canceled 8 flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Dong Hoi and vice versa. Many other flights were also delayed during the day due to the storm.
Jetstar Pacific announced the cancellation of 4 flights between Vinh/Dong Hoi and Ho Chi Minh City, namely BL524, BL525, BL350, BL351. Similarly, Vasco canceled 2 flights between Hanoi and Dong Hoi, namely 0V8590, 0V8591.
Passengers whose flights are cancelled will be transferred free of charge to the same flight the following day if seats are available or the day after.
Airlines recommend that passengers arriving and departing from Noi Bai, Cat Bi, Tho Xuan, Vinh, Dong Hoi, Phu Bai, and Da Nang airports during this time should update weather conditions and airline information to proactively plan their travel schedules.
Talas is the second storm to appear in the East Sea this year.According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, this afternoon the eye of the storm is about 290 km east-southeast of the Thanh Hoa - Ha Tinh coast, with the strongest wind speed reaching level 9-10 (75-100 km/h). The storm is expected to make landfall in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Ha Tinh provinces around tonight and tomorrow morning, with an intensity of level 9-10.
