Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov said Moscow is always "waiting" for negative steps from the US.

Mr Antonov said Moscow supported pragmatic relations between the two countries and stressed that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov remained in contact with US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

"There is only one thing here: the need to restore bilateral relations. However, every day we are in a state of waiting for possible negative measures from the US side against our country," he told journalists at a youth forum in New York.

Earlier, US State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert announced that US Secretary of State Tillerson had approved a list of individuals and organizations related to Russian intelligence and the military-industrial complex to apply sanctions against these agencies.

Shortly thereafter, the New York Times reported that the list included the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), and the Russian Military Intelligence Service (GRU).

There are also 33 enterprises, corporations and organizations, including Rosoboronexport, Izhmash, Kalashnikov, Rostekh, MIG, Sukhoi and Tupolev.

Commenting on this information, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov informed Sputnik that the listed Russian organizations have been sanctioned and learned how to operate in these new conditions./.
