A group of friends went swimming together on Dragon Boat Festival, one male student died.
(Baonghean.vn) - A group of friends went to the N13 river bank to swim. While swimming, one friend fell into the deep, fast-flowing water and was swept away.
This afternoon (June 25), the People's Committee of Quynh Giang commune, Quynh Luu district, announced that they had found the body of Cao Van Thanh, resident of hamlet 2, Quynh Giang commune, an 8th grade student at Quynh Giang commune secondary school.
Before that, at about 8:00 a.m. the same day, Thanh and 3 classmates in the same grade invited each other to go to the N13 river flowing through the commune to cool off.

After 15 minutes of swimming, Thanh fell into a deep, fast-flowing current and was swept away. His friends swam after him to save him but were too late and had to run back to tell their relatives.
Immediately, dozens of relatives and local authorities blocked the water to search for him. It was not until 11am that Thanh's body was recovered near Quynh Dien bridge, the border between Quynh Giang and Quynh Dien communes.
