In the hot sun, under the burning sand, but with youthful strength, enthusiasm, and pioneering spirit, tons of garbage on the Lam River bank through Xuan Loc hamlet (Dong Van commune) were collected and transported.

Sweat stung their eyes, their shirts were soaked, their hands were red, their feet were blistered… but the members’ eyes and faces were radiant with joy at having done practical work. Photo: Thanh Phuc

Nguyen Thi Cam Tu, Club President, shared: “At first, when they did not understand our activities, many people thought that we were just “pretending” and that we were all “rich kids” who only knew how to study, so how could we stand the “heat” and work hard to clean up the trash? And we responded to those words with actions and practical work. Up to now, we are very happy to be supported and recognized by the people around us.” Photo: Thanh Phuc

Although many people think that the club's activities are like "throwing salt into the sea" because after a few days of cleaning, the trash reappears. But that does not discourage the volunteers, because the young people still believe that from small actions will help gradually change people's awareness and behavior in preserving and protecting the environment.
