Group of illegal immigrants hiding in car trunk
A group of Chinese people illegally entered Vietnam by sea, then hid in the trunk of a car to pass through the checkpoint.
On May 6, Mong Cai City Police (Quang Ninh) announced that they had decided to prosecute the case and prosecute Nguyen Manh Cuong (35 years old), Mac Van Hoang (44 years old), Vu Duy Sinh (29 years old), Pham Xuan Duong (52 years old), all residing in Mong Cai City, and Nguyen Cong Phuc (31 years old, residing in Ha Long City) to investigate the act ofTorganize illegal entry for others
According to the investigation agency, at 9:30 p.m. on April 27, on National Highway 18A, in Hai Tien commune, the Mong Cai City Police working group discovered two men driving a motorbike at high speed, in the direction from Mong Cai to Hai Ha district with many suspicious signs, so they signaled to stop the vehicle for inspection.

When the police were spotted, the driver left the passenger behind and sped away towards Mong Cai. After checking the man left behind, the police determined that he was a Chinese citizen and did not have a passport, visa or any other immigration documents.
This person confessed that Truong Phat Tan (34 years old, residing in Fujian province, China) and three friends, Ngo Vi Ban (35 years old), Lai Truong Lo (30 years old) and Tran Ban Duc (31 years old), illegally entered Vietnam by sea that evening, then tried to go to Laos to work.
During the investigation, on April 28, the police arrested a group of 5 people who organized the illegal entry of Chinese people, including: Cuong, Hoang, Sinh, Duong, and Phuc.

According to the investigation agency, in order to deceive the authorities, this group of 5 people brought Chinese people to enter the country illegally by sea in Binh Ngoc ward, Mong Cai city, then hid them in the trunk of a car to go through the vehicle control station in Nam Tho area to enter the city center. Here, this group continued to disguise themselves as fishermen, traveling by motorbike to go through the Km15 - Dan Tien Wharf Joint Control Station to continue moving deeper inland.
Mong Cai City Police later arrested the remaining three Chinese people, who were hiding in the acacia hill in village 5, Quang Nghia commune, and took them to medical quarantine.
