Billion-dollar bridges under construction in Tan Ky
(Baonghean) - Currently, many traffic works in Tan Ky (Nghe An) have stopped construction, affecting people's lives, especially during the rainy season.
In early 2019, people of Huong Son commune, Tan Ky district received good news, the State started constructionKhe Chui bridge project,on the main road to the commune center. Happy because up to now, on this road, there is a Chui stream overflow every time it rains, the water is deep, the flow is fast and very dangerous, no one dares to cross. At times like that, Huong Son commune is isolated, schools have to close.
Teacher Nguyen Canh Hung - Principal of Huong Son Secondary School said that most of the school's staff and teachers come from the town to teach here. On this road, there is a Chui stream, and every time it rains heavily, the water floods deeply. During the rainy season, the school has to close for many days because teachers and some students from the two hamlets on the other side of the stream cannot go to school. There are even times when the school has to close for a whole week because the flood water recedes slowly.
Therefore, not only the people in the area but also the teachers here want the construction unit to speed up the progress so that the bridge can be completed soon, creating favorable conditions for teachers and students to go to school conveniently, no longer having to miss school due to floods like before.

The Khe Chui bridge project on the town road to Huong Son was invested by the State with a total capital of 15 billion VND, starting construction in early 2019. However, up to now, the State has only allocated 9 billion VND in capital.
To ensure the construction progress, Tan Ky district mobilized the business side to create all conditions, to complete the project soon, to meet the wishes of the people. Currently, the Khe Chui bridge project has basically completed the bridge part, the important thing now is to build the road to both ends of the bridge to open the traffic.
StillKhe Than bridge in Tien Ky commune (Tan Ky)Construction started 4 years ago, in April 2015. After completing some piers, the construction unit had to stop working for a while. In 2019, with a small amount of capital allocated, the enterprise continued to construct the bridge girder, but it is still unfinished. According to the Tan Ky District Project Management Board, up to now, 30/42 billion VND has been allocated for the Khe Than bridge project. Currently, the construction unit has completed the abutments, piers, and poured the bridge girder, but the bridge is still not completed.![]() |

Route to Phu Son commune centerConstruction started more than 10 years ago, but until now it is still in a state of being non-existent, because the capital is allocated in small amounts. The most urgent of which is the Phu Son bridge project on the road to the center of the commune. Although the bridge has been completed, due to lack of capital, the roads on both sides of the bridge have not been built, causing people to be upset.
The road and bridge project to Phu Son commune, Tan Ky district, including 18 km of asphalt road and Phu Son bridge across Con river, started construction in 2009 with a total investment of up to 162 billion VND after many additions. According to the plan, the above road and bridge will be completed and put into use after 36 months. However, up to now, the State has only allocated 30 billion VND, so the contractor has stopped construction of the road to the 2 bridge abutments, making people's travel very difficult, especially in the rainy season.

Local people expect the government to pay attention to arranging funding for the contractor to complete the road leading to the bridge and asphalt the remaining 3km section so that people can travel conveniently, but the situation has remained "inactive" for many years.
In addition, in Tan Ky district, there are many traffic projects that have been suspended for many years due to lack of capital. For example, the traffic project from the town to Nghia Hop commune, 15 km long, with 2 rigid bridges, with a total investment of 110 billion VND, started construction many years ago, but until now it is still "inactive" because the State has only allocated 25 billion VND to build Khe Thien bridge and some other items.

In which the project aloneKhe Thien BridgeWith a total capital of 21 billion VND, but the State has only allocated 18 billion VND, so after completing the bridge, the enterprise stopped construction and did not build a road to the bridge, making people angry, because "having a bridge is like not having one".
At the same time, the road from Cau Roi to Tan Phuong intersection has a large number of vehicles traveling every day. However, due to the severe deterioration of this road, the province has recently allocated 7 billion VND to upgrade it. Currently, Tan Ky district is upgrading this 4.5 km long road.
The rainy season is coming, when key transportation projects have not been allocated capital in time, meaning that construction works continue to be suspended. Thus, Tan Ky residents will face another rainy season of isolation due to flood water.
