Maori-inspired senior welcome images
The welcoming images were very special, imbued with the Maori culture, when host New Zealand held a ceremony to welcome Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and his wife along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on March 13.
According to custom, when two Maori tribes meet, the host greets them with a spirited greeting, using words and gestures that demonstrate power. Then he places a knife on the ground. If the guest is friendly, he picks up the knife with his eyes looking straight at the host; otherwise, it shows that the guest is not friendly and will not be welcomed.
