Solemn images of state leaders taking oath

At the 11th session of the 13th National Assembly, for the first time, a leader in the state apparatus after being elected read the oath of office at the inauguration ceremony. This is a mandatory ritual stipulated in the 2013 Constitution.

Article 70 of the 2013 Constitution stipulates: “After being elected, the President, Chairman of the National Assembly, Prime Minister, and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court must swear allegiance to the Fatherland, the People, and the Constitution.”

On March 31, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan read the oath: "Before the sacred red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly, before the voters nationwide, I swear: Absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, to the People, to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. I vow to strive to train and fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State and People."

On April 2, President Tran Dai Quang swore before the National Assembly: "Before the sacred red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly, compatriots and voters nationwide, I, Tran Dai Quang - President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, swear: To be absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, to the People, to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, to strive to do my best to fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State and People."

On April 7, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc took the oath before the National Assembly: "Before the sacred red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly, compatriots and voters nationwide, I swear: "Absolutely loyal to the Fatherland, to the people, to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. I vow to strive to train myself to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party, State and people."

On April 8, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh performed the oath-taking ceremony: "Before the sacred red flag with yellow star of the Fatherland, before the National Assembly, before the voters nationwide, I swear: Absolute loyalty to the Fatherland, to the People, to the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Continuously study and train to successfully fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party, State and People".
