In recent years, Nghe An high-performance sports have reaped many glories in domestic and international arenas. Behind that halo is the dedication of dedicated teachers and coaches.

Bui Duy Vinh – Traditional Martial Arts – Boxing – Kickboxing Coach

Born in 1972 in Le Mao ward (Vinh city), in a family with no tradition of sports or martial arts, Bui Duy Vinh's passion for martial arts was inspired by his brother who served in the military.

In 1989, when martial artist Ngo Xuan Vy, younger brother of martial artist Ngo Xuan Binh, came to Vinh city to develop Nhat Nam martial art, Bui Duy Vinh came to study. Although he started later than his fellow students, after only 3 months, he excellently won the number 1 position in the class. In 1991, Bui Duy Vinh was selected to attend the National Traditional Martial Arts Congress in Hanoi. Later, when the Provincial Sports Training and Coaching Center established a Traditional Martial Arts team to prepare for the National Sports Congress, Bui Duy Vinh was one of the first athletes to be named.

In 1994, when Pencak Silat was first introduced to Nghe An, Bui Duy Vinh decided to switch to studying this international martial art originating from Indonesia. However, at that time, the Pencak Silat competition rules were not yet complete, and after 3 failures in the ring due to non-professional reasons, Bui Duy Vinh felt very sad and decided to return to traditional martial arts.

Although Bui Duy Vinh's competitive career was not as outstanding as some other athletes, when he switched to coaching, he achieved many successes. After being appointed as the head coach of Traditional Martial Arts at Nghe An Sports Training and Coaching Center in 1998, Bui Duy Vinh built a strong Traditional Martial Arts team in Nghe An, with names that later made Nghe An sports famous such as: Le Thanh Tuan, Phan Cong Tuyen, Bui Duy Tuan, Le Tuan Dung, Duong Trong Binh, Kha Hoai An, Ha Duc Tuan, Tran Thi Linh, Nguyen Van An, Vo Xuan Thanh...

In the early 2000s, Bui Duy Vinh was the pioneer in proposing to include martial arts such as Wushu, Boxing, and Kickboxing in the high-performance training program. From 2002 to present, under the guidance of Coach Bui Duy Vinh, Traditional Martial Arts, Boxing, and Kickboxing Nghe An has always been among the strongest units nationwide, each year bringing Nghe An sports dozens of medals from domestic and international tournaments, with prominent faces such as Ngu Thi Thuyet, Bui Duy Chi Thanh, Nguyen Thi Mai, Thai Ba Trung,Phan Trong Quy...

Currently, he is the President of the Nghe An Martial Arts Federation for the 2021-2025 term. Regardless of his position, martial arts master Bui Duy Vinh always devotes all his passion and experience to preserving and continuing the flame of martial arts from his fathers and brothers.

“What I appreciate most is that during the 2 years of complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, I took advantage of the time of isolation and lockdown to focus on correcting techniques and improving the competitive mentality of my students, including Nguyen Trong Dung and Nguyen Tu Anh. Perhaps thanks to that, since 2022, the competition results of Nghe An divers have improved significantly,” coach Ho Phi Luoc shared./.
