Make an appointment for inspection in advance

The Vietnam Register has launched an online appointment booking application to facilitate and save time for people and businesses. Accordingly, people can book an appointment at the registration center and the most suitable time via the TTDK application on their phone or via the website https://ttdk.com.vn/.

After making an appointment, the vehicle owner only needs to follow the appointment schedule to the inspection center, present the online appointment slip and be able to inspect without having to wait in line for hours. Registering for an appointment online not only helps the vehicle owner save waiting time, but also helps the vehicle owner be flexible in his work and manage his time.

Mr. Tran Duc Thin (Binh Tan District) said that at this time, vehicle inspection centers should tighten the process of accepting appointments via the application to avoid confusion when queuing for vehicle inspection during peak times.

"I found that only accepting cars with pre-booked appointments was effective at the beginning of this year, so the same should be applied this time," said Mr. Thin.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Linh - Manager of Inspection Center 50-05V Tan Binh branch - informed that currently the number of vehicles with online appointments accounts for about 50% of the number of vehicles coming for inspection each day at the center. Because the number of vehicles at the end of the year has increased but not yet reached 100% capacity, the station still accepts inspection for vehicles that have not yet made an appointment.

Vehicle maintenance and inspection before registration

During the long or short period of use, the wear and tear and breakdown of the car's systems are entirely possible. Having the car repaired or maintained before registering will ensure that the entire system of the car operates at its best, meeting safety parameters to pass the inspection.

If the vehicle fails to meet the technical safety requirements during the inspection, the owner will have to return the vehicle and have it repaired. If the vehicle still fails after repair, the owner will have to re-apply the inspection and pay the fee again.

This not only wastes the car owner’s time but also costs more money. In cases where the inspection station is overloaded, having to go to fix the problem and return for inspection will cost the car owner many more hours.

Look up fines

Many car owners only find out when they take their cars to the inspection that they have been fined for not paying the fine, so their vehicles are refused inspection. Therefore, before going to the inspection, car owners should look up information to see if they have been fined for not paying the fine.

The Vietnam Register recommends that car owners can proactively look up information about whether their vehicle has been fined or not on the website of the Traffic Police Department and the Register or look it up directly on the TTDK application when making an appointment for vehicle inspection.

Necessary documents

According to Circular 02/2023 of the Ministry of Transport, the required documents to bring when going for vehicle inspection include: Vehicle registration documents (original vehicle registration issued by a competent state agency or original receipt), original vehicle registration (with a copy of the vehicle registration) being mortgaged by a credit institution or a copy of the vehicle registration certified by a financial leasing organization (with a copy of the vehicle registration) or an appointment letter for issuing a vehicle registration.

At the same time, depending on each case, the vehicle owner needs to supplement the vehicle registration certificate with confirmation from the financial leasing organization. The chassis number and engine number of the vehicle for motor vehicles that are exempt from inspection.
