A serious explosion occurred at noon on April 1 at a building on Berite Street, District 6 of Paris, leaving five people slightly injured, according to TF-1.
The explosion caused a fire on the top floors of the building. People living nearby could see black smoke rising.
Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene, evacuated residents and carried out rescue work. The cause of the explosion is being investigated. Some witnesses at the building said it could have been a gas explosion.
For the past two days, Parisians have been living in a tense mood as hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets to protest against the government's labor reform laws. Several clashes have occurred in the city center when police were forced to use force to disperse many of the unruly crowds.
