For decades, the Association of Fellow Countrymen in Hanoi has been a warm common home for the Nghe An community - a community that is considered to have a large number of members and organizes many exciting and meaningful activities.

The association's activities are increasingly effective in connecting the community and spreading the values ​​of Nghe An homeland. Each member of the association, despite having many worries and burdens in life, always has a heart to turn towards and practically take actions to help and accompany the homeland in many aspects. Programs to honor and promote Nghe Tinh folk songs, to material support to share difficulties with flood victims in the past year... have expressed all the hearts of those who are far from home.

That steadfast love for the homeland was once again affirmed and emphasized by comrade Nguyen Manh Cam - former member of the Politburo, former Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Nghe An Association in Hanoi: Helping the homeland has become a responsibility, an urge in the mind of every child far from home.

In that spirit, the former Deputy Prime Minister suggested that members should conduct research to contribute to the province's faster development and vice versa, the association also hopes to receive "ordered" opinions from provincial leaders in the process of building and developing the province. "If there are any issues that fellow countrymen can contribute, I suggest that provincial leaders raise them so that the association can study and contribute opinions to the province" - Comrade Nguyen Manh Cam shared.

Appreciating the hearts of Nghe An people in the capital for their home province, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed that in recent years, the Party Committee and people of the province have been very happy and excited when many Nghe An people living and working in the country, especially in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and other countries have returned to invest in the province and have been very active in supporting charity programs, repaying gratitude, building schools, building houses for the poor, people with meritorious services... "The provincial leaders sincerely acknowledge the noble sentiments of the people. In the coming time, we hope that the children far from home in Hanoi will continue to turn to their homeland; many excellent students, scientists, intellectuals among our people will return to their homeland to work, invest for long-term business... contributing to building Nghe An homeland to become more and more developed and prosperous" - the Provincial Party Secretary emotionally expressed.

Join hands to build Nghe An development

Delighted with the comprehensive results that his hometown achieved in 2017, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Dinh Thien - Director of the Vietnam Economic Institute, member of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Group, admitted that he is "a person who rarely gives compliments", but he could not hide his joy at the results of the province in the past year. However, he still expressed his concerns when the province's potential is great, but the income of the people is still low compared to the average income of the whole country.

“We all share the same wish to develop Nghe An” - he said and gave profound recommendations to build Vinh City into the center of the North Central region in the spirit of Resolution 26 of the Politburo; at the same time, build Nghe An, especially Nam Dan - the hometown of President Ho Chi Minh into a “coordinate” to attract domestic and international tourists. Sharing some things with the association members, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Dinh Thien suggested that the Nghe An Association in Hanoi, with its strengths and capabilities, must “roll up its sleeves” to contribute more to building its homeland.

Associate Professor, Dr., Major General Le Van Cuong - former Director of the Institute of Strategy and Science, Ministry of Public Security shared that the annual meeting of the provincial leaders with the Nghe An Association in Hanoi is a good tradition, continuously maintained. 18 years living in Nghe An, 58 years attached to Hanoi, but in the intimate story of that Major General, there is always a heavy burden of joy, worries and concerns for the homeland.

His voice dropped when mentioning the damage caused by natural disasters to the people of his province in the past year. Following every step of his homeland, he said that the province has overcome many difficulties to achieve outstanding results, which is very encouraging, but in order for Nghe An to develop further, in 2018, after evaluating 5 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo, the province should "deepen" into solutions to attract more foreign investment projects.

“One of the issues I wish to focus on is creating the most favorable conditions for foreign investors to invest” - Major General Le Van Cuong shared and expressed: “I believe that Nghe An will have a new momentum in the year of Mau Tuat. I wish my province a successful 2018, creating a new mark on the map of Vietnam”.

Joining hands to build the homeland is also the desire of many Nghe An businessmen far from home. Businessman Nguyen Canh Hong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vinh Trade Center Investment Joint Stock Company (Vicentra), General Director of Eurowindow, one of the pioneers in investing in the homeland, shared: Nghe An is a province with a lot of potential, besides investing abroad and many provinces and cities in the country, investing in the homeland always brings special values.

Talking to us, this businessman said that the provincial leaders have created favorable conditions for investment in Nghe An, but to increase the attractiveness of the investment environment, the province needs to speed up the time to handle business procedures; at the same time, clearly publicize the planning so that businesses can research and implement investment projects.

After 3 full hours of emotion, the meeting between the provincial leaders and the Nghe An people living, studying and working in the capital this year has ended. However, from that meeting, it has contributed to fostering and consolidating the feelings of fellow countrymen; at the same time, it has opened up more understanding, opportunities for cooperation, investment and investment attraction in the very land of "birth".
