Farmers go to the fields to save the winter crop
(Baonghean.vn) - Storm No. 10 made landfall in Nghe An, causing great loss of life and property. Nghi Loc suffered damage to hundreds of hectares of winter crops.
After the storm, people went to the fields to check and hope to save the crops.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, hamlet 13, Nghi Long commune (Nghi Loc) and her family went to the field to repair 1 sao of damaged winter peanuts. Ms. Thuy said: "Storm No. 10 has torn off all the plastic covering the peanuts, and some of the plants have roots sticking out. Therefore, today, my family took the opportunity to re-pin the plastic and replant the fallen peanut plants. Some of the heavily damaged plants had to be uprooted, focusing on re-establishing the ones that could still be repaired."
According to the Nghi Loc District People's Committee, storm No. 10 flooded and tore off 189 hectares of peanuts; 300 hectares of corn were uprooted; 60 hectares of summer-autumn rice - the green season was downed, causing damage. Currently, Nghi Loc farmers are focusing on the fields to overcome the consequences caused by storm No. 10.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tho - Vice Chairman of Nghi Loc District People's Committee said: "Currently, the district Party Committee and government continue to assign tasks to each sector to the localities to direct the overcoming of the consequences of storm No. 10. Priority is given to clearing drainage ditches to drain water quickly and promptly on rice and crop areas; instructing people to re-fertilize crop areas, and continuing to harvest summer-autumn rice areas that were not harvested before the storm.
Meanwhile, in Dien Chau, crops were also heavily flooded with 600 hectares, many of which are difficult to recover.
