The Ministry of Transport has just issued Document No. 7234/BGTVT-CYT to units in the transport sector and transport departments of provinces and centrally run cities on strengthening measures to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic on passenger transport vehicles.
The document clearly states that, in order to ensure safe transport activities and minimize the risk of Covid-19 infection for drivers, flight attendants, service staff and passengers when participating in traffic on passenger transport vehicles (buses, taxis, passenger cars, trains, airplanes, ships, etc.), the Ministry of Transport requires agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp the viewpoints, principles, and mottos and strictly implement epidemic prevention measures in the new situation as directed by the Prime Minister in Directive No. 19/CT-TTg dated April 24, 2020, absolutely not being subjective or losing vigilance.
The Directorate for Roads of Vietnam, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, the Vietnam Maritime Administration, the Vietnam Railways, and the Vietnam Inland Waterways Administration closely coordinate with the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities, especially Da Nang city, to monitor the epidemic situation and promptly provide guidance on issues arising within their management scope; Propose solutions in cases beyond their authority for the Ministry of Transport to consider and decide.
These agencies also need to notify transport businesses to strictly implement measures to ensure safety and prevent the spread of the disease to the community when carrying out passenger transport activities; Provide hand sanitizer (with at least 60% alcohol concentration), disinfectant solution, and covered trash cans on all passenger transport vehicles.
