Tay Hieu 1 Farm celebrates 60 years of construction and development

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 20, Tay Hieu 1 Farm held a ceremony to celebrate its 60th anniversary (April 20, 1956 - April 20, 2016).

Attending the event were representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Provincial Labor Federation, leaders of the People's Committee of Thai Hoa town and many farm workers of different periods.

Over the past 60 years, Tay Hieu 1 Farm has always been at the forefront of the socialist labor emulation movement, one of the leading units in applying and transferring scientific and technological advances, and applying mechanization to production.

During the years of resistance against the US, with the movement "Not a pound of rice is missing, not a soldier is missing, all for the beloved South", hundreds of cadres and workers of the farm enthusiastically joined the army to participate in protecting the Fatherland.

Shifting from centralized subsidy to business accounting, although still facing many difficulties, the farm continues to proactively seek new directions, gradually innovate economic management mechanisms, cooperate and form joint ventures with many units to create jobs and increase income for cadres, workers and civil servants.

Leaders of Tay Hieu 1 Farm received the first painting presented by the Provincial People's Committee.

The farm continues to strongly shift the crop structure, focusing mainly on crop products such as coffee, rubber, oranges, etc. The output of fresh coffee and tea in 2015 reached 375 tons; 1,130 tons of standard rubber latex. Currently, the farm has 850 workers, with an average income of 40 to 50 million VND/person/year.

With its achievements, Tay Hieu Farm was awarded the Second Class Military Exploit Medal by the Party and State; Second Class Labor Medal; many certificates of merit from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; and many certificates of merit from the People's Committee of Nghe An province.

In the following years, the Farm's staff and workers continued to promote production achievements, organize the division of labor well, and train technical staff and skilled workers in the direction of specialization.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee presented the Farm with a banner bearing the words "60 years of construction and development"; the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the Provincial People's Committee also presented certificates of merit to the staff and workers of Tay Hieu 1 Farm.
