Female doctor with broken leg still participates in 5-hour surgery
Although her orthopedic surgery colleagues told her to rest, the female doctor still examined and operated on patients every day.
With one leg in a cast, Dr. Song Xiaojie, head of the obstetrics and gynecology department at the Wuhan Women's and Children's Health Center in Hubei province, still performed a crucial surgery on a cancer patient. Dr. Song broke the middle finger of her right foot on April 4 after accidentally kicking it into a metal frame in her office.
