Nghe An policewoman chases fugitive like in action movie
(Baonghean.vn) - 'Seeing that she was small and a woman, I tried to 'fight back' but she was faster, threw me to the street and locked my arms behind my back. She said she was a police officer, then I realized I was under arrest,' fugitive Nguyen Gia Dung confessed.
As the only female member of the PC52 task force on the way to bring the fugitives to justice, receiving information identifying Dung's hiding place, Senior Lieutenant Tran Thi Ngoc Truong and her teammates from Department C52B deployed a plan to surround and capture him. The chase wound through many streets of Saigon for many kilometers, ending with a kick that caused the subject to fall to the street, immediately being handcuffed behind her back and then handcuffed, but Senior Lieutenant Ngoc Truong Deputy - Captain of the General Staff Team still considered that feat a fate for the profession.
Captain Phan Minh Loc - the leader of the arrest team revealed: "The case of Nguyen Gia Dung was not included in this arrest project but he was eventually subdued by the wanted force after a chase right in the middle of a crowded street in Saigon. Perhaps, Dung could not have expected that he would be arrested by the only female police officer of the PC52 task force."
At the end of February 2017, the PC52 working group went to the Central Highlands and the southern provinces to escort 6 fugitives who were arrested after Tet back to Nghe An. On the morning of February 28, the car carrying the fugitives from the Central Highlands arrived in Saigon, preparing to complete the procedures to receive some of the fugitives who were being held at Camp K17 of the Ministry of Public Security. The plan was that after receiving them, the car would go straight to Nghe An.Due to lack of money, Nguyen Gia Dung (born in 1992), Quynh Luong commune, Quynh Luu district, borrowed a motorbike from a friend and sold it. When the incident was discovered, Dung fled the area, no one knows where he went. In March 2016, Quynh Luu district police issued a wanted notice for Nguyen Gia Dung for "Abuse of trust to appropriate property".
Lieutenant Truong said, “While doing the procedures at K17, we received information that Nguyen Gia Dung appeared at a street football field in Tang Nhon Phu B Ward, District 9, Ho Chi Minh City. After a quick consultation, the leader of the arrest team assigned me and Lieutenant Tran Hoang Huu to coordinate with 2 officers from the Southern Criminal Investigation Department (C52B) to approach the scene.
Using professional measures, the task force narrowed down the location where Nguyen Gia Dung was hiding. Dung's room was closed, Lieutenant Huu and a C52B officer were lying in wait outside, Senior Lieutenant Truong and another officer approached the room. When the C52 officer knocked on the door, Senior Lieutenant Truong discovered a motorbike with three people speeding out of a nearby billiards club. The motorbike passed by very quickly, but with a professional eye, Senior Lieutenant Truong discovered Dung was the subject wearing a red T-shirt, sitting in the back. The motorbike sped away, the task force got on two motorbikes to chase after him. It was 2:00 p.m. on February 28.
Knowing that they were being chased, the motorbike with three people on it sped off, weaving through many alleys. The chase lasted for several kilometers. When they reached a deserted stretch of road, Lieutenant Huu's motorbike accelerated, overtook them, and forced the subject's motorbike to the side of the road. The motorbike driver still tried to swerve out of the way, trying to overtake them.
At this time, the motorbike carrying Senior Lieutenant Truong had just arrived. With just one kick, the motorbike fell onto the road. Nguyen Gia Dung jumped up and tried to continue running, but Senior Lieutenant Truong rushed in and locked his elbow. At this time, Second Lieutenant Huu and two officers of Department C52B were still not sure that this was the wanted subject.

“I don’t know why, I only saw the photo once but Dung’s facial features are “imprinted” in my memory. I confirm to you guys that this is Nguyen Gia Dung, the subject wanted by the Quynh Luu District Police. After announcing his arrest, Nguyen Gia Dung remained stubborn, saying that the police arrested him by mistake. Dung’s family has already agreed to compensate the victim’s family. Dung came here to do business, not to run away. However, after being brought to the headquarters of Department C52B, Dung admitted that he was wanted and the case had not been resolved,” Senior Lieutenant Truong said.
On the morning of March 3, the task force escorted Dung and 5 other subjects to Nghe An (1 subject was handed over to Tan Binh District Police, Ho Chi Minh City for investigation according to authority). While waiting for Quynh Luu District Police to receive him, Nguyen Gia Dung said: "At that time, I thought I was being chased by some Saigon "big brothers" because of a conflict while playing "bet" soccer. Seeing that she was small and a woman, I intended to "fight back" but unexpectedly she was faster, threw me to the street and locked my arms behind my back. When she said she was a police officer, I realized I was arrested."
Meeting the female lieutenant when she had just completed the escort of 5 fugitives from the Central Highlands and the Southern provinces to Nghe An to face trial. Referring to the successful arrest of Nguyen Gia Dung - a fugitive from the arrest plan of PC52 Nghe An Police, Lieutenant Tran Thi Ngoc Truong smiled, "perhaps it was fate". "From the Central Highlands to Saigon, before having time to eat, we deployed the plan to arrest the criminal at 12 noon. While waiting in front of the motel gate, the hot noon sun, I was so hungry I thought I would faint, but when the subject appeared, I forgot all about hunger and just rushed away. It was not until 2 p.m. that we were arrested, and when we were escorted back to T17 Prison, it was already 3 p.m. At that time, I was so happy that I forgot all about hunger"./.
